We specialise in the construction and design of underground structures. We are qualified in the following areas:

Design of underground structures for road and rail infrastructure (tunnels, galleries, cut-and-covers,…)

Planning in the BIM environment (creation of 3D, 4D, 5D and 6D BIM models of construction, creation of BEP,…)

Design of geotechnical structures in road and rail infrastructure (retaining walls, tunnel portal structures…)

Planning foundations of structures in road and rail infrastructure (shallow and deep foundations, foundations on wells…)

Design of buried structures

Preparing studies on the environmental impact of the construction of underground facilities in cooperation with other departments

Planning remedial measures (landslide remediation, remediation of underground structures, remediations of tunnels…)

Preparation of specific projects for the protection of cultural heritage

In the past few years, members of the Department of Civil Engineering and Underground Structures have participated on a number of challenging projects as lead experts or team members.

 

The department employs fifteen professionals, namely; two PhDs, two MSc, six bachelors of engineering, three graduate engineers and two technicians. Six have passed the professional examination under the PGO and two under the Mining Act.
