Department of Mining, Monitoring and Field Investigation

We specialise in the preparation of mining projects. We offer expert support to solve environmental issues, including landfill planning. The department is qualified in the following areas:

01

Mining

  • Preparation of mining technical documentation (mining projects for acquiring concession, execution of works and rehabilitation in producing mineral resources; studies on the classification and categorisation of mineral reserves; monitoring programmes for the impacts of mining works during exploitation and abandonment),

  • Preparation of expert opinions and studies in the field of mining,

  • Revision of mining technical documentation,

  • Technical management of the implementation of mining works

02

Monitoring

  • Development of monitoring programmes to monitor the impact of construction works on the surrounding area and infrastructure,

  • Management and implementation of monitoring,

  • Carrying out measurements of the impact of construction sites on the environment and infrastructure (vibration measurements, measurements of the inclination of buildings-tilt meter, noise, dust particle concentrations, deformation and other parameters).

  • Preparation of expert opinions and studies in the field of monitoring

03

Field Investigation

  • Drilling (geomechanical and structural boreholes up to 150 m depth, coring with single- and double-walled core barrel, intact sampling, wire-line drilling, installation of piezometers and inclinometers, measurements during drilling),

  • Automation and remote monitoring of measurements,

  • Ground deformation measurements (displacement measurements on retaining and supporting structures, measurements of inclinations and displacements on landslides and landslips),

  • Specialised geodetic measurements

In recent years, members of the Department of Mining, Monitoring and Field Investigation have worked as lead experts or team members on a number of challenging projects.

The Department employs six experts: three Masters of Engineering (M.Eng.) and three Bachelors of Engineering (B.Eng.). Three have passed professional examination under the Mining Act (ZRud) and two under the Construction Act (ZGO).
