Preparation of the Detailed Execution Design (PZI) for the Karavanke Tunnel – Eastern Tube

The Karavanke motorway tunnel is located on the Pan-European Corridor X and connects the A2 motorway in the Republic of Slovenia with the A11 motorway in the republic of Austria. The tunnel in this corridor represents a bottleneck as it is built as a single-tube two-lane tunnel with two-way traffic. For this purpose, we have prepared for the client DARS, in collaboration with partners, a Detailed Execution Design (PZI) of the eastern tunnel tube and the missing part of the motorway with all the necessary accompanying arrangements. As part of the project documentation creation, we also participated in the development of a BIM (Building Information Model), which is the first PZI project of this kind in Slovenia developed in a BIM environment.
