Redevelopment/remediation project for plot 115/1, Teharje

Investment value: € 2 mio

Our role: Project manager and hydrogeological investigation manager

Year of the design of technical documentation: 2018 - 2020

Geological investigations have been carried out in the area of plot 115/1, Teharje, to determine the geological and chemical composition and hydrogeological properties of the natural and embankment sediments as presented in this report. The main purpose of the investigations was to obtain reliable data for the environmental risk analysis according to the EC criteria, to obtain missing geological-geomechanical and hydrogeological data for the preparation of projects (initial design, building permit) for the environmental remediation, to eliminate uncertainties resulting from the drilling of the boreholes through the embankments already carried out in 2014, to obtain missing data on the spread of pollutants from the plot to the environment via groundwater and surface water. . To obtain information on the remediation of heavy metal contaminated artificial embankments, to obtain missing data for the EIA and the Environmental Permit, to protect the site in case post-war burial sites are encountered during the surveys and to ensure the integrity of any further operations and to use the drilling surveys to obtain preliminary geotechnical data relevant for stability calculations and for the foundations of the buildings in case of a change of use of the plot. These findings have been used to provide a basis for the design of remediation measures on the site and for the assessment of the environmental risk of groundwater contamination.
