Reconstruction of the IZOLA FISHING HARBOR – PHASE II

Our role: The IRGO geomechanical laboratory carried out laboratory tests on soil and rock samples taken from geomechanical boreholes to determine the material properties of the soils.

Year of the design of technical documentation: 2019

For the design of the project, it was necessary to check the composition and properties of the soils in the area of the existing quay and the coastal wall to be reconstructed. As part of the reconstruction of the fishing harbour, it was planned to raise the existing seawalls and partially widen the seafront promenade towards the sea. At the geomechanical laboratory, we determined the physical parameters of strength and deformability of the soil samples, which, with further analysis, helped us provide a geotechnical opinion on the feasibility of the reconstruction of the fishing harbour.
